Celebrating 3 years plus a giveaway

I think a celebration of sorts is in order. It is not every day that you find yourself celebrating 3 years in the "blogging" world. First I must admit the past year has been an on and off, love/hate relationship with this blog. But aren't all relationships like that?? Don't they all have their ups and downs, happy and sad days? Rewarding and not so rewarding?

It is no different with this blog. Sometimes I like it, even love it. I feel ideas, and words pouring out of me like an open faucet, at other times, I'm as dry and bitter as the driest desert -which btw is the Atacama desert in Chile (according to wikipedia).

But all in all, I like it more than I do not. So I keep at it, not as much as I did before, but I still do it because I like sharing my thoughts and my images, and also because every once in a blue moon I get an email or a letter from an unknown person telling me how much they like what I do, and that has meant the world to me.

Since I couldn't participate in my swap (even numbers), and I was really wanting to swap, I thought I would go ahead and make one for an unknown person. The packages shown here are the guidelines from the swap, and probably a bit more :) and the colors chosen for the packaging are my favorite at the moment.

If you want a chance to win this, without having to send one in return, all you have to do is;

1. Leave a comment telling me which is your favorite post from this blog, and why you liked it.

2. And also what you would like to see more of, in this blog.

3. Follow if you like, not obligatory (as I usually don't like it when they make me follow a bunch of things). Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram.

*Open to everyone, everywhere
THIS GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED!!!

Good luck, and have a beautiful day,
Giova

  1. My favorite post is the one about A Janet Bolton Workshop. I love fabric and I love what she did with it. I would love to see more things like that, things about what others do to create with fabric.
I also love the wonderful little wrapped packages in the pictures.

  2. Awww, if only I hadn't been away, I would have been your missing person! I knew exactly what I wanted to send, I just didn't have it with me on holiday. Whether I win or not, I would love to send you a package as part of my snail mail project :) Anyway, to answer your question, it will come as no surprise that I love your museum posts the most! But I also love when you post about embroidery, as I have recently taken it up again and it inspires me to keep going with it. Jenni x

  8. Congratulations on 3 yrs blogaversary Giova. I love all your posts but one that most sticks in my mind is embroidered words and my favourite poem by Yeats, Clothes of Heaven. Just beautiful....
Thank you for the chance to win one of your gorgeous packages. I would loved to have joined in your swap, sadly it was bad timing for me as I was already trying to work to deadlines and feeling under pressure.
I so understand what you mean by love hate relationship with your blog. I have set myself a challenge this year to post photos weekly and as my main computer is currently not working I am using my laptop. I find this so much more challenging and everything takes so much longer. At times like this I am sorry I set myself this commitment but know if I can keep it up I will feel a sense of achievement. At least I hope so!! I hope you find enjoyment in your blog and I will look forward to joining in your swap next time round.

  11. Big congratulations on the 3 years. Its hard sometimes to keep loving writing the posts and the photos and its hard work. I add odd recipes to mine, butt due to caring for a relative, I have lost the love a little not for cooking, but getting it all into a post. before I used to dash to the blog first and always be updating. But know that it is appreciated by many readers. I love the how to make scraps of fabric into garlands, I did this and its so pretty, thank you. Its a bit lame as I just love all the new ideas for beautifying my home and at reasonable prices and in ways I understand as I am not overly crafty. So I love all the personal touches, like the bunting and art projects. Thank you

  16. Honestly, I love any post from the "lovely stores" series! I'm a sucker for beautiful shops (as I often daydream about having my own little corner somewhere) and you seem to have very similar tastes to mine, which is a bonus! So far I've loooved every single shop you featured, and made sure to add some of them to my "must visit" list for when I'll travel :)

As for what I'd like to see more.. I wouldn't know. I really like the variety you've got going on already. But maybe, more swaps? ;)

Anyway, cheers for the blog-versary! <3

  22. Congrats on your bloggiversary! I've been trying to find the post that made me start following you, but I can't recall which one it was - must have been almost three years!!! At that time the plan was to have posts from your crafty sister abroad as well (I believe she was living in the US?) Anyway, I'll have to choose another one... not an easy task! Some favourites are "Notebook Keeper or Journal Maker?" (fellow notebook hoarder here and I love your peek inside some of them), "Some Crafts are Better than Others" (I love your paper-fabric mixed media style, and on another note: awesome title > hearing Morrissey sing "Some girls.." right away) and of course the one about the doily teabag sachet for pen pals.
BTW you probably already follow @tinybeardk on instagram? If not, take a look!
